Pianist Arranger Composer Music Director
Samuel is a pianist arranger composer and music director working in the classical, pop, jazz, and Broadway fields.
He has studied classical piano with Brieley Cutting, jazz piano and vocal accompaniment with Mark Berman (NYC pianist on the Sex and the City Theme) as part of the Broadway Mentors Program, and the Equal Interval System of composition with the Emmy Award winning composer Glenn Jordan (LA). Samuel is currently being mentored in conducting and music directing by Bernard Walz.
Samuel completed his PhD on the life and music of Tommy Tycho and is advisor to the Tommy Tycho Trust. He is a published academic and has and entry in Grove Music Online and a chapter on Bernard Herrmann's concert music. Subsequently, Samuel has lectured at Sydney University, and Western Sydney University in the areas of arranging, orchestration, music theory, and analysis.
Samuel is in high demand as a music director, pianist, and vocal coach with students acheiving spots in the Talent Development Program (TDP), and appearing on the voice. He currently serves as the music director for the Vocal Muster in the Southern Highlands.
In 2024 Samuel will be relocating to New York City as a pianist, and music director
